This fall, American Express, personal finance expert Jean Chatzky, and the Council for Economic Education have teamed up to launch “The National Money Night Talk.” “The talk,” set for Thursday, September 16, is an evening reserved for parents to sit down and discuss financial responsibility with their children.
The Kansas Council on Economic Education (KCEE) and NexLearn, LLC are adding to the national event by providing an interactive, easy-to-use resource to parents for use with their kids, especially those in Kindergarten through 8th grade or older students with little exposure to economics or financial topics. For one night only, on September 16, the Financial Foundations for Kids (FF4Kids) resource will be available FREE to the public.
The link will be found right here on September 16th.
FF4Kids, a comprehensive set of computer lessons, features episodes introducing students to economic and financial concepts such as budgeting, saving, sources of income, and borrowing. FF4Kids is a great resource for the talk because it requires minimal preparation, is instantly engaging for students, and provides parents with the flexibility to stop and start the video lessons. It facilitates genuine discussions which enable parents and kids to learn together about sound money choices, no matter the level of prior knowledge. Want to find out more about FF4K? Visit the webiste at www.ff4kids.com.
